Buttermere House residents mark International Women’s Day

Residents at Buttermere House care home marked International Women’s Day with a small celebration recognising the achievements and contributions of women around the world.

International Women’s Day, celebrated each year on 8 March, is an opportunity to reflect on the progress made towards gender equality and to recognise the impact women have had across society, communities and family life.

At Buttermere House, the day provided a chance to acknowledge the lives and experiences of the women living at the home. Female residents were presented with flowers by members of the team as a simple gesture to mark the occasion.

Alexandra Sule, registered manager at Buttermere House said: “International Women’s Day is a great opportunity to recognise and celebrate the women we support. It was lovely to mark the occasion together and present flowers as a small gesture of appreciation.”
