Position: Home Manager
Location: Grasmere House
Salary: Negotiable
Hours: 40 hours per week

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated Registered Home Manager to lead a 41-bed nursing home providing high-quality care for older people in Horsham, West Sussex. The successful candidate will oversee the day-to-day management of the home, ensuring exceptional care standards, regulatory compliance, staff development, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all aspects of the home’s operations.
  • Ensure high standards of person-centred nursing care are maintained.
  • Supervise, support, and develop care and nursing staff.
  • Maintain compliance with CQC and other regulatory requirements.
  • Build positive relationships with residents, families, healthcare professionals, and local authorities.
  • Conduct audits and monitor quality assurance systems.
  • Manage budgets and commercial performance.
  • Drive occupancy, reputation, and continuous service improvement.

Essential Requirements

  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar Home Manager role.
  • Experience managing a residential or nursing care service.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills.
  • Proven knowledge of regulatory compliance and quality standards.
  • Enhanced DBS/PVG clearance.

Desirable Experience

  • Active NMC registration (Registered Nurse)
  • Demonstrable success achieving positive CQC inspection outcomes.
  • Experience marketing a care home and maintaining high occupancy levels.
  • Commercial awareness and budget management experience.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with senior management, regulators, and external stakeholders.
